Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods

These are proceedings that take place without any involvement of a common court. They are held by an independent person: an arbiter or a mediator. They are inexpensive and fast. They may involve mediation in which a consumer and the operator resolve a conflict situation with the involvement of a mediator. The mediator provides assistance in finding a common resolution, satisfactory for both Parties and fair. They may also rely on reconciliation. In such case, a third party, independent of both Parties, becomes acquainted with the issue and presents a suggestion for its resolution. The Parties have the right to disagree with this suggestion or to not comply with it. Such proceedings may be also heard before an arbitral tribunal in which disputes are heard by an impartial arbiter. In such situation, a verdict has the same legal validity as a common court verdict. The Parties are obliged to comply with such resolution.
