Impartiality and Independence
The Ombudsman and the persons working in the Ombudsman’s team operate independently of the ORT President. This mainly means that the persons handling proceedings do not follow the guidelines of this authority and they are not bound by the arrangements arising from supervisory or intervention proceedings handled by the ORT President.
In the course of conciliatory proceedings, the Ombudsman and the team members take account of the interests of both the passenger and the operator. They present suggestions that include the arguments of both Parties which are possibly satisfactory to them.
Also, you may be certain that the Ombudsman is not a member of management boards, supervisory boards, or review panels with which you may have a dispute and is not employed and does not perform any actions in these entities. Moreover, it does not have more than 10% of their shares or stocks accounting for more than 10% of the share capital in each of these entities.
The Ombudsman is appointed by the ORT President for a five-year term of office.
